What we collect
When you place an order, create an account, or contact us, we collect information necessary to complete that action. This includes:
- Name, email address, shipping and billing address
- Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we never see your full card details)
- Order history and product preferences
- Messages you send us through the contact form or email
We also collect basic browsing data through cookies: pages visited, time on site, device type, and browser. This helps us understand how people use the site and where we can improve it.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Process and ship your orders
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and respond to inquiries
- Improve the site experience and troubleshoot issues
- Send occasional updates about new products or content (only if you opt in — we don't assume consent)
We don't sell your information. We don't share it with third parties except where necessary to complete your order (shipping carriers, payment processors) or where required by law.
Marketing emails
If you subscribe to our email list, you'll receive occasional updates about new pieces, restocks, and content. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you immediately — no questions, no delay.
Order confirmation and shipping notification emails are transactional and can't be unsubscribed from, but they only go out when you place an order.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart intact between visits, remember your language and currency preferences, and track how the site is used (anonymized analytics). You can disable cookies in your browser, but some site features won't work properly without them.
See our cookie policy for more detail on what we use and why.
Third-party services
We work with trusted third-party services to run the site and process orders:
- Payment processing: Stripe handles all payment transactions. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Shipping: We share your name and address with carriers (USPS, UPS, DHL) to deliver your order.
- Analytics: We use privacy-focused analytics to understand site traffic without tracking individual users across the web.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We've chosen providers that meet high privacy standards, but we can't control how they handle data once it's in their systems.
Data retention
We keep your order history and account information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide service. If you close your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we're required to keep records for legal or tax purposes (typically seven years for transaction data).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request corrections to inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (with exceptions for legal obligations)
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time
- Object to data processing in certain situations
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@aurelia.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
International customers
If you're ordering from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By placing an order, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled securely, regardless of where it's processed.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (SSL) to protect data transmitted between your browser and our servers. Payment data is tokenized and handled entirely by our payment processor. We can't access your full card details at any point.
No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
Children's privacy
Our site is not intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we've collected data from a child, we'll delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll notify you by email or with a notice on the site.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, email us at privacy@aurelia.com or use the contact form.
